    I have in my hand a copy of a bill from a delivery I made last Friday, which was 17 skids of boxed stone, from Simpsonville SC to here, 17000 lbs. The freight charges on that shipment were $971.55, not including the fuel surcharge, which at 19% added $184.59. Is that good money?

    I do know that if that were an inside delivery, the inside delivery fee at $4 per hundred lbs, would be another $680.

    Not too bad. $2.15 loaded mile including the fuel.

    Reasonable for a short run.
