Will you be working on highways or dirt roads (oilfield)? livestock?

Long term, you see yourself running more or less local or regional, or all over the 48?

    Brightspear Thanks this.

Gas engine in it. I don't think you'd want that for a truck that tows all the time. That's a truck for the backyard guy who tows a camper 2 or 3 times a year. Go diesel if you want to pull heavy all the time. I run an older truck like that with the Powerstroke diesel and fully loaded I'm 18,000lbs. Pulls up a 5% just under the speed limit.

For that kind of money on up, you might as well get a Big truck and haul proper.

Might be a good deal if you like stopping at gas pumps every time you see one.

A fellow I know had a 2006 F650 roll back, with a Cat engine, and a six speed. He averaged like 12mpg he said. Then he bought a new f650 with a gas engine with an automatic. He now gets 5mpg when loaded.

There’s a few to get you started. You will be running local right? This will teach you all you need to know about working on/repairing/maintaing these trucks.

I drove a single axle Mack Vision for 2yrs. It was literally a overgrown pick up truck. Hell i could even fit in a regular car parking spot with it when bobtail.

I see alright I'll probably get the diesel then, they're a bit more pricey 50k-60k but I guess its more worth it for long term
