So I have a set of cheap led lights from tractor supply I put on my dump trailer. I was working in a couple pits in the early morning and couldn't see anything backing up. They are super bright and light up probably 50 to 60 feet behind me. I have them wired to separate plug on the front of the trailer and then a switch on the dash. The cheapest way to wire them that I have found is to pick up a 100ft outdoor extension cord, I cut the ends off and use it just for the wire. You can get a 100 feet of 3 wire for 10 to 20 bucks and its all jacketed just zip tie along with the other wiring under the trailer. Then its up to you, whether you use a separate connector or wire in a switched hot line.

That's good thinking. It's hard to beat cheap and available outdoor extension cord for stuff like this.

In NJ you are allowed to have as many lights installed with out question BUT they all have to work.

That's a old wives tale. I.e. not true.

Unless, of course, you can point to a law that claims that. So far no one has been able to.

Just like that old wives tale that every single hole in your frame had to have a bolt in it.
