So I just got hired by new company a month ago. After my second week of training I was pulled off the truck today because the safety team had sent an email to a previous employer who replied with incidents. Mind you, these incidents did not affect my driving record and I had gone through all the background/dmr checks a month ago when I accepted the position. If my clearinghouse and driving record are clean, I don’t see how they can pull this especially after being hired a month ago. It seems as though this previous employer has a personal vendetta against me. I am trying to get a copy of what was sent to my company. Is this legal? Any thoughts appreciated. Thank you.

So what types of incidents did you lie about on the application?

Did you have these incidents when you worked at the previous company? I'm not asking for you to agree with every word of the past employer's comment.

Past employers don't always respond quickly when employment verification checks are made.

If past employer is saying more or less true things, yes it's legal. If they are saying grossly untrue things, or things they know to be false you can sue for defamation of character, possibly.

It depends on the incidents & what the employer is saying about them. Life is much simpler if you have no incidents. New drivers seem not to think that's possible.

It must be a lot of incidents. Most places three incidents and you're done.

Most employers won't put you in the seat until all of your background comes back.

Your acting all innocent on here and no one even knows who you are.So I’m guessing you probably hit something there are a lot of things you could’ve torn up that wouldn’t be on a driving record, you could have torn the hood off a truck at a truck stop it wouldn’t be on a driving record .next time it’s better just to be honest instead of trying to pull something over on somebody then acting like the world is out to frame you when you get caught lying

First of all, I’m not “acting all innocent” I was just asking advice. Yes, I did get terminated from this employer for one of the incidents which I did not on future applications. But they did not affect my record and I got another job before I started with this new company. So I didn’t think I needed to put it down since I had already found other employment afterwards without noting it. Also, I’m not trying to “frame anyone”. I’m glad you guys who are making those comments are the world’s greatest drivers. I’m happy for you. There should be a framed photo of you at every rest stop above the urinals.
