If you quit and leave your tractor at your home drop yard were you park, will they hit you with abandonment?

Well, technically no, but I wouldn't put them as a reference for the next job, not like you have a choice. A notice of even a couple days is better than just dumping them. You may or may not get your last check, if that's an issue. A little courtesy, no matter how hard it is to swallow( we've all been there) goes a long way.

380 miles from the closest terminal and I wouldn't expect my last check due to the recovery. Just don't want an abandonment on my DAC.

If someone has to go 380 miles to recover your truck, then a sure thing they will call it abandonment. Doesn't matter if it's on DAC or not. It will come up om a past employment check.

Um, okay, I see what you did, and sorry to say, you are screwed. It is indeed abandonment if it's not back at the terminal. It may not be what you wanted to hear, but you should have taken the truck back.

It was a thought. Just wanted to hear you vets before I make a bad decision. Also time out new job with trying to return it to get a least 1 paycheck on a Friday.

I should have asked this before, is the home drop yard a place where they told you to drive the truck when you were off duty and is paid for by the company?

If it is yes, then no it isn't abandonment legally.

Bean Jr. and wis bang Thank this.

You need permission to leave the truck at the drop yard. Screen grab a photo from the truck computer that shows you were given permission to leave the truck there.

Bean Jr., 201, tscottme and 1 other person Thank this.
