Clearly it doesn't matter what anyone says Number21 isn't listening. We've all given are .02 and he still wants to argue that it's a good idea. At this point he should just go out, get his own authority, , insurance and start getting all those loads that will get him to the east coast. This could be the most laughable reason I have ever heard for someone wanting to get into the trucking business.

21: I am not running away. I just refuse to listen to your insanity. Go for it. Be a big trucker. None of the rest of us who has posted makes any sense to you, yet we all have experience, and you my friend do not.

when you made the ridiculous statement, "driving is resting" I think you seriously offended most of us here.

as far as I am concerned you are an "agitator" and most likely trolls other forums trying to stir up controversy.

Just because what I posted to you makes no sense to you, no matter. I have my experience behind me to back me up. What do you have? Ideas? I don't see others with experience jumping in there telling me I am full of ######.

PLEASE. GET YOUR DOT PHYSICAL, AUTHORITY, TAGS, COMMERCIAL INSURANCE, etc. And go out there and run a couple years, then come back and give us all an apology. NOW. I AM DONE!!!

Sounds a little like he wants to make east coast runs and LOOK legit, I mean it is harvest season after all.

I agree with the above post. He had his mind made up and when he came asking for advice the responses he got wasn't what he wanted to hear.

You know I have had a few officers tell me they will pick the light trucks just because there quicker to get done and get the numbers quick. That's a fact jack. In all honesty he sounds like a good candidate for Uship,I mean most the boats on trailers,RV's ect will never make it to a load board because the shippers are too cheap so in all honesty some are not taking away much from legit drivers if he's really looking for a way to pay for the trips as that's about all he will get there is fuel money. Lol

A lot of cranky old men here who have a big attitude problem. You're obviously not wrapping your head around the situation, and nobody can answer the simplest question: Why go unloaded? Can anybody give me a legitimate reason? Just because I asked a question does not mean I am not allowed any input.

I'm not stupid, I can use a calculator. As a the big cahuna expert here, why don't you post some numbers? How come I'm the only one that can back up my story with some real math?

If anybody can show me how a class 8 truck can be cheaper to run per mile than a one ton of 1/3 the cost I would LOVE to see it!! Even if insurance cost the same, everything else cost more in a big rig!!

You obviously cannot read. I was not talking about the DOT, I was talking about my own health, which I am not going to discuss with you. I can pass a DOT physical just fine.

Your experience says a class 8 truck cost less per mile than a one ton and you cannot deliver a camper with the vehicle it was designed to be towed with? Do you have any numbers to back that up? You have yet to post anything that backs up your story. The new one ton Rams have towing capacity of 30k lbs. If you take a look at ANY RV transport company they are looking for one ton trucks for single trailer driveaways. People do not use class 8 trucks to pull a single camper for profit! You have never done that either!

Just because nobody in this particular thread has experience doing this exact thing does not mean you aren't full of poop.

Here are three threads from just the top page that completely disagree with you. If you want more just search, there are many more.

    http://www.thetruckersreport.com/tr...ot-trucking-forum/213378-why-start-small.html

Maybe you should go re read the rules of this forum, they are very simple.

That is exactly what you are doing! You have yet to back up anything you have said! Your numbers do not compute!

How many of you here arguing have ever used a 3/4 or one ton to deliver single RVs for profit (or loss)? Anybody? You don't have experience in what you are trying to give advice in. This is just like the Ford 6.0 thread a few posts down where everybody who never drove one blindly bashed it and made themselves look stupid. Just because you drove a truck for a while does not make you an expert at everything. Nobody here has used a class 8 truck to deliver single RVs.

It's funny, the friend I talked to about this, is making plenty of money doing exactly this in my area and nothing else with an old one ton Dodge. He makes good profit, and he doesn't even count the free trip across country as profit! But he must be running drugs on the side right? *sigh*

PS - Campers need shipping from Oregon (Pendleton) east and from Indiana west. That works out perfectly for me.
