Yes, very good route. Saves about 60 miles over going I-90. Couple steep hills but nothing crazy. Watch your speed going through the few small towns.. Last week I went through and the deer were everywhere..just before sunrise it is worse because the deer are on the move going to bed down for the day. I’ve had to stop a couple times because they were just hanging out in the road right in downtown Brodus.

The weight station in Brodus is usually open in the daytime and you can take your break there too.

The only way I’d consider taking I-90 is if the weather was really bad..snow etc.

When my boys rode with me, we called the stretch between Broadus and WY "The Trophy Room." There's some monster mulies that come to graze on the alfalfa growing on the shoulders through there. That's not a stretch of road to blindly haul ### on after dark.

 

It is really bad right now, I think the migration is or will be starting soon. Two Novembers ago I hit a huge, horse sized mulie on 90 in SD. Hit it with a brand new 389 with 4K miles on the odometer. Was just standing in the road..was until I launched it into the median

I got slowed down a little but wasn’t much I could do being 80k. Even stabbed my left front steer with it’s rack.
