The rockers were all bad, i found on the forums that this is a common problem for cummins ISX
we did an overhaul, keeping same injectors
when we started the engine,it was running good.
but when pulling the trailer even empty, it runs tight.
It feels like somethings holds on the turbo or the wheels, it does not pull like before.
Yesterday In Oh for example, just south of Dayton claiming the big hill @ mm 40-ish, did not go better than 30 mi/h. that with a 80k lbs load.
Is this tight something normal until breaks in? i have a 475 HP ISX , turned to 525 by dr Diesel.
    thanx for the imputs.

No, something is wrong. Sounds like it isn't making any boost, but this can be caused by anything at this point. Better have it looked at.

turbo is working hard, i hear it, also smoking black.
mechanic will look on it tomorrow, he suggested that since he can tell that the head was replaced before, we may have wrong camshaft part given by Cummins dealer. Does that make sense?
any suggestion, like gear axles timing maybe?
    Thank you much

Or simply they reprogrammed with a factory spec program in order to offer warranty ..

did he find anything and i would guess that the wrong timing shim was used on one or both cams

Did they remember to put that threaded plug in the head? sits between the ecm and intake, hard to see as it sits vertical, should feel air puffing out when at idle if its missing. have seen this left out a few times by others.

check engine light on? black smoke means you either have a lack of boost pressure, or an abundance of fuel in a cylinder
