Hey guys and gals!
This is what I got going on, thanks for helping and ribbing is ok as long as you make me like it!
I have a med card, class a combo, no gears, no air brakes, no other endorsements. Be toting a 1 ton and trailer #38k 30 some of feet. 2.5 years.
My current company and I are quickly coming to a parting of the ways after 30 years. I don't expect to get a good review from them.
I want to round off my cdl and get the driving experience i need to move forward, hopefully to o/o at some point . I've been in a few rigs enough to know I'm not afraid of it, lived on the road almost all my life. The whole lifestyle calls to me.
I don't have a place to live or a base of operations except with my work.
What I'm looking for is advice on options. My license is in Colorado but I travel all over the country. I'm only going to have about 7k to make this transition to another paycheck. I've only got about 1k/ in bills.
It's time. Good advice appreciated

This school is 170 hour course and will qualify you for about any company that hires new cdl grads. Many military people go there when they transition out of the military in Colorado. Some companies will pay the tuition in advance or reimburse the tuition back to you if you agree to work for them at graduation.Tigerstail Thanks this. -
What about the no reference thing. Kinda has me bothered after all this time? And thanks for the reply!

You could always find a training school that charges 1500 - 2k to finish up your CDL. Once done with that get on with a company to get some time in before trying out the o/o side. I just got a lease truck and I am enjoying it. No it's not a l/p before the trolls start lol

The job placement office at the school will set you up with a job or drivers on this forum can give you some leads.Brickwall, Need4Speed and Tigerstail Thank this. -
You need to get that airbrakes and manual sorted. Most 80,000 pound vehicles here in the USA CDL A are usually of that type.
Make sure you study air brakes in particular. And test in a vehicle that has a set plus manual transmission.
Everything else will fall into place at some point.Brickwall and Tigerstail Thank this.
