Rl Conley and King are based out of the Kentucky area. Do a lot of feeder cattle out the South east back to the mid west and bounce back mostly.

Do you have any experience working cows?

I’ve seen lots of farmers become bull haulers, you rarely see a trucker become a bull hauler. In other words, it’s easier to teach a farmer how to drive a truck than it is teaching a truck driver how to work cows.

How much have you been around cows? Were you in the pen with them? You been around feeders or just old holsteins that aren't sure if they're a cow or dog? I tried getting into that stuff but it didn't pay enough for me to do it, I'm not getting in a trailer with freight that wants to kill me for a 1.80 all miles.

I know lots of bull haulers that have quit the business in the last couple of years. I know part of it was because elogs, but I don't know the other reasons. If they are only making $1.80, that would be the main reason not to do it or get out.

That was hauling for somebody else who thought he should 20% off the top for dispatch and trailer rent. If I'd stuck around till about now when the fall run is going it's probably better, but I don't work for people who seem to take it as a personal offense when I decide to take a week off from driving my own truck.
