The reason I ask is J B Hunt got a new contract with Toys R Us and they are looking for drivers and yard jockeys. I am interested in the Yard Jockey position but only if they provide air conditioning in their Switchers. The company I retired from didn't have a/c in their switchers and it was brutal in the summer.

OK so I called the JB Hunt number and they got in touch with the operations manager. I called back 4 hours later and they still don't have an answer for me. Seems pretty simple. Either you spec yard switchers with a/c or you don't. I was wondering if any J B drivers know??

Some are new leased units, with AC - some are older, and some regular daycabs.
Probably just a crap shoot, like with any company. -
I started orientation in East Brunswick NJ. for the yard jockey position at the Toys R Us facility but the orientation was all about driving the trucks. I drove for 36 years and was not interested in doing that anymore so after two days I decided JB Hunt wasn't for me.

sometimes you have to take the whole orientation to get the job you want. sorry to hear that it wasnt what you thought it was.

i doubt the switchers have air. they prolly blow hot air if they do. besides i tihnk its only paying 15-16 an hour with no ot. not much money at all just like any other jb hunt job. if jb paid a lil more and bumped there trucks to 68-70 mph hour they would be a good place to work for since there endless jobs it seems. craigslist is flooding with that toysr us flanders account. paying 104o.00 avg a week. id bet the bank your working 12-14 hours a day tho. break that down and the pay blows. for 12-14 hours a day 5 days a week u should be grossing 1200-1400
