Have you started with JC? If so what are your first thoughts? I’m hiring on with Jack Cooper in Wentzvile MO in 2 weeks. No previous car hauling experience. Anybody know much about the group of folks at Wentzville?

I backhauled from Wentzvile fairly often several years ago. I don’t know their exact service area, but you had terminals in several directions from Wentzville to backhaul from if you tried to get loads going that direction. Once you get the hang of loading the vans it was quick to load from there as you normally don’t have very many units. This was a fairly typical load combination I would get and I still see them on the highway with about the same loads. They run older equipment but they had a good shop at that terminal and breakdown time is $28 an hour if no spares are available or you breakdown on the road. 684E4AC5-C1D3-42F2-8675-2F26A5FBA6F3.png

I’ve seen Jack Cooper hauling compact farm tractors for John Deere. What’s the deal with that? Is it fill in work or a regular account?

I'm pretty sure that's a regular deal. I've seen them doing that for quite a while.

I would imagine the tractors pay good with the additional units you could load on a stinger vs flatbed. Probably a bunch of stops and possibly some places a stinger doesn’t need to go.

Stop pay has the potential to be very lucrative.

I figured they probably did. I just thought it was pretty smart outside the box thinking.

I really hope you haven’t started hauling cars in Buffalo yet. I realize this is an extreme snow event, but it still would suck to be out in normal Buffalo snow storms loading cars. @Tropsnart or @Hammer166 are such seasoned winter weather carhaulers that they would probably have just dropped at this Toyota dealer and be on their way back to get a second load. My fair weather Carhauling self is sitting on my couch with a couple lap dogs and a roaring fire watching the action on the TV. You know it’s bad when that front loader has trouble getting around. Now that my gut (gallbladder)has settled down I have been contemplating going back to car hauling.
Online Auto in Cheektowaga and Virginia Transportation are both on my short list. Both run heavy Toronto area back down with Fords.
The thought of running that area almost daily in the winter has me reconsidering !!
