I asked about them in the Motor Carriers board awhile back, but thought I’d ask in this board as well. They’re a fuel company that’s based out of Wisconsin, but they have locations in the south such as Atl Ga, Huntsville Al, several locations in Florida, and several other southern states. While they require driving experience, they don’t necessarily require fuel-hauling experience. Their ad on Indeed states “NO experience, NO worries. We will train you and you get paid while training”.
There are not currently any positions open in the south, but should I apply to this company when there are? I have a feeling the southern terminals won’t pay quite as much up north, and the competition may be more fierce in the south due to not having to get out in the cold. I seem to remember a position being open in Jax Florida for $21 hourly, but this was back in 2017-18, so it would probably be a bit more today.

Your fuel job there will only be as good as:
- How well your terminal manager treats his/her troops (including you)
- How well your terminal maintains its tractors & other related equipment
- How well your trainer there trains you

Don't worry about comparing pay between terminals, the difference in pay is due to the differences in the labor market and the cost of living.

I grew up in Milwaukee, and I don't think Jacobus Quickflash is the same as Jacobus Energy. Quickflash deals strictly with local home heating oil, and Jacobus Energy is a nationwide outfit. I couldn't imagine a more secure job for the next 30 years than hauling fuel,,,for anyone. I wouldn't get in the truck for under $30/hr. today.

They do on-site fueling here in central North Carolina. I haven’t seen them with anything bigger than a tandem axle tanker.

If youre looking at the no experience required position, its for class b. They have some class A in jacksonville, FL, but almost all of their trucks are B. The class A requires 1-2 years of experience.
If you really want to work there, just keep checking because the turnover rate is insanely high so they're always looking.Zonno Thanks this.
