Without running the truck yet have you tried to get what your CPM is?
I know that must be hard
What kind of wagon do you want to drag?
Pick somthing that you will enjoy and make a buck atStrider and leadfoot2012 Thank this. -
I plan on dragging either a skateboard or a 53' dry van. For insurance purposes I am listed as a 'non-owned' 53' dry van.
Progressive doesn't offer General Liability in WI - so I need to either find a separate company for that or a company that can do it all for me. -
i did it for schneider (they call it "power plus " ) and did pretty well but mostly 250 mile radius only prob was keeping busy doing what i wanted but it was all flat rated and i could get my own return loads using their trailer for $15 the first day then $30 the second and $45 after that ......never kept one more than 3 days .......some stuff i got 5-6$ a mile but most was in the $3 a mile range......very flexible......the longer stuff was cheaper
Hanadarko Thanks this. -
I figured Schneider might have a similar program. I am looking for something with no minimum and the most flexibility. It seems JB Hunt's setup matches that.
If I only want to run 1-2x a month with them, then thats all I want. Since I am running under my MC and insurance/plates , there isn't any cost to them to have me 'hanging around'.

i was set up with jb to do broker loads ...but the power only deal for jb at the time was too restrictive ...... at the time jb wanted you to commit to 10 days out at a time which was not what i wanted .......maybe they changed that .......i did a couple broker loads for jb with the schneider trailers ......really confused the shippers and recievers.......
scottied67 Thanks this. -
Yea, JB no longer has any restriction like that. I did ask him and I have reviewed the 'agreement' but while I understand legalspeak this needs to be re-read several times. Its 25 pages long....
-
schneider gave me a packet but most of it was jibberish.......forgot to say that they charged me $6 a day for trailer insurance , but if you have trailer interchange you didn't have to pay that......there was no agreement on pay the loads were flat rated.....and most were negotiable......if you like the $ you take it if you dont ...you don't ......but if you take the cheap rates thats all they will offer......i know guys got more loads than me because they would do them for less
-
Thanks for the info.. -
You have your own authority and by dragging JB Hunts trailers, the most you could possibly make is $1.46/ mile??
