JB Hunt - Power Only program

not to mention your insurance.........thats why i didn't go for the jb program

 

Schneider requires one year O/O experience for the choice program. The JB thing has been beat to death. Have you ever seen the "search" button up top???? use it. JB's great if you want to stand in a soup line for food

JB is king of the "haul this 100 mi load then sit three days waiting for your next load that you deadhead 400mi for and haul that 150 mi"

 

the schneider choice program is a lease deal.......totally different deal than the power plus which is a brokerage agreement for guys or small fleets with your own authority

How it pays,
Less than 200 miles pays 70% of the line haul and 100% of accessorial, i.e.
fuel, detention, ect. Pays 1.50-2.00 per mile
200-599 miles pays $1.17 plus fuel surcharge
600-699 miles pays $1.12 plus fuel surcharge
700 plus miles pays $1.10 plus fuel surcharge
Deadhead pays $0.60 per mile up to 100 miles
Current fuel surcharge is .28 cents per mile
Over all monthly average is 1.45 per mile

How to get approved.....

1. Fill out the attachment and fax back to this number

4. Have Authority to run at least 11 states east of I-35. These states are
(TX,LA,MS,AL,GA,FL, SC, NC, TN, AR,
OK, KS, MO,KY, WV, VA, MD, PA, NY, NJ, OH, IN, MI, IL, IA, WI, MN).
why...... why..... I can pull better rates of the load board than this.....seriously due the math

 

JD, no harm no foul, and nothing wrong with asking. I just think this jb *unt power only deal that they're offering to guys with their own authority, is like akin to the fleace lease garbage plans they also offer.

Get your own trailer and start aiming at a price you dictate, rather than what BFIs want to make off of you. Wis is a great freight market (outbound).

IMO, if you drag their trailers under the PO "arrangement" you should be dictating the price to them not the other way around.

 

J.D., good research on this program. I got the package got back in the summer and I had to re-read the "lingo" several times to get the proper understanding.

I see that it has its advantages, you can pull their trailers to different cities. Or use your own trailer, and tote their freight. Yeah, the rate is kinda low, but J.D. you have I reaching for: NO TRUCK PAYMENT!!!! Low overhead. I know your not driving at this time. But you are setting up yourself for success.

You have greater "flexibility" than others on this forum. Many on this forum express the futility of the trucking business. They are being "real", letting you what the real deal is and there are the "haters". Ask the "haters", where else can you go? Those "haters" say get into something else. Healthcare, Government, Insurance, Manufacturing, etc. Nobody is hiring in those fields and they are laying off workers. But I see "your" perseverance and determination. And of course, times (trucking industry) has changed from 20 years ago.

As long as your not "committed" to them (get your own loads) and you can get your loads with or without their trailers, go for it. If you "jump in" I would like to know how you are handling it. Keep "us" advised. Later.

 

Schneider and JB are both best avoided... not enough freight and not enough miles..oh yeah... not enough $$$.

 

I got the same sales pitch but honestly you could just pick up loads off internet truck stop and do better than that. The per mile rate is terrible and to add insult to injury they are shaving at least .10-.20 per mile of the fuel surcharge off the loads.
