I believe the new lease plan at jct is much better for drivers like yourself. They charge a base payment of around $180 then like a maintenance escrow deduct .18-.21 cpm for the rest of the payment. If you run consistently 2800 miles then your lease will be paid off in 5 years. Any less miles will mean longer payoff and vice versa. The other guys can give you a better and more accurate numbers because they still under a lease.

It is never a bad idea to have a slush fund based on your monthly costs. As for the wanting to enter into the L/P and be home every 2 weeks I think that would be even more problematic depending on where home is. I personally go home every 18 to 24 days for 2-4 days on average and have no issues. With the new contract the going home frequently is easy to do, but if your home is not in just the right place going home every two weeks could seriously damage your miles.

I live in Toledo Iowa. About 60 miles north of i80. Right at the intersection of us63 and us30.

That would not be a difficult place to get home too, but not likely to happen over here every 2 weeks. Every 3 to 3.5 weeks no problem with wonderful profit margin along the way. Think of it this way, not many businesses would survive if they were to shut down during 20 percent of their peak business hours. That is what 2 to 3 days every 2 weeks would do to you. You may make it for a short while, but not with the kind of surplus you would need if an emergency at home or on the road were to happen

YEs there are several drivers that bought their own truck and leased onto jct. But dont think they're new.

I even know of a few that walked in the door to Lease then 6months to a year later bought trucks (1 was new the other was the truck he was leasing) and continued to be leases onto JCT.

Iowa 80 truck show is this week. Anybody near Walcott Ia swing by and say hello. I have a loaner truck (cascadia) and my stainless show trailer entered. Unfortunately my Coronado show class truck was clipped Monday!!!! Nonetheless swing by and visit, be safe out there.

How does the teaming l/p work? How many miles would you get? Also, will you pay off your truck in 2 and 1/2 years since, i assume, will be double the miles of a solo driver? Im interestes to have my brother or uncle team with me.
