If I were to live and drive on the east coast, I would seriously consider hiring on with Venezia or Smith Transport.

 

Stay away from anything involving the hassidics. I used to deal w em in lakewood when I worked for ups frieght. They look at you as an animal and nothing more.

 

When is the last time you were employed as a cdl driver?
Lots of OTR outfits will hire you.
Melton Truck Lines probably get you up to speed.
Do you want to run the roads?
Can give you lots of choices.
If you want local, Schneider might put you through their refresher course and let you pull intermodal to the ports.

 

Since I live and drive on the east coast, I would seriously consider moving to Nebraska or Kansas or..... Seriously though, there are plenty of opportunities. The real task will be weeding through the companies NOT to drive for.
