Nashville just isn't the same anymore, I don't see myself ever moving back to the area.
When we moved to Hendersonville, it had a population of about 28,000 (late 80s) and 3 stoplights. Today, its effectively part of Metro Nashville and has over 62,000 people living there. Gallatin was to the east and a decent drive up 31E with a population of 19,000, but its now connected to the east side of Hendersonville with 47,000 people.
There are just too many people in the area now... so I moved to the rural Midwest, back in a town with 26,000 people so my kid could grow up the same way I did. For reference, it only grew to 26,000 from 22,500 in the same time frame, so I don't think I have to worry about urban creep. The closest "big" city is 40 miles away with 121,000 people and the Twin Cities are 100 miles away.
