Haven't they been closed a while? I swear I went through there last year and they were closed.

Miss those cinnamon rolls.
Flat Earth Trucker, austinmike and ElmerFudpucker Thank this. -
Last couple times I stopped there I wasn’t too impressed.

The Black Bear Diner at the Petro in Eloy, AZ seems to be pretty busy. The Black Bear Diners seem to bring in more people who aren't truckers than a truck stop restaurant so I guess money talks.
drvrtech77, Flat Earth Trucker and Sirscrapntruckalot Thank this. -

It's s shame that the restaurant is closing, but after the rave review from @Concorde in a similar thread, I'm optimistic!

Last couple times I stopped there I wasn’t all that impressed. It seemed to be in decline, but black bear has become a favorite for me.
I’m hoping maybe they do something about the other locations where they closed restaurants up during the pandemic and never reopened them or they replaced them with that pathetic joke named “the kitchen”.Flat Earth Trucker Thanks this. -
I lived in Fort Collins, Colorado back in the 90s, and I used to stop in at Johnson’s Corner fairly often, particularly very late at night coming home from a night out in Denver. It was such a classic look out of the past, and I was really disappointed when they remodeled the outside of the building and it totally lost the visual appeal. Closing the restaurant just finishes what started with that, and removes the last thing that made them special.
Flat Earth Trucker Thanks this.
