they will train you how to use the flatbed
equipment is aerocab flat top frieghtliners, they did just recently buy some w900 kw's though i dought youd get one just startin out
i almost went to work for them in 04 but was told the time out is about 6-8 weeks.the big turn off for me was talkin to the owner...hes an ###, so i went down the road to anouther flatbed carrier in missoula and went to work....the terms were more to my liking.
cant tell ya for sure...ive never worked for them
i know it doesnt help much but thats what i know -
anyone know anything about Transland out of Springfield, MO?
-
6-8 weeks??? screw that. hey broncrider, how are you liking Davis Transport? what is thier average time out?
-
you drive for Davis? That is where I intend to start my 2nd career. Just got the TP....um, I mean the pre-hire letterfrom them. So how do you like it there?
-
i dont pick up my truck till the 16th, i just bought brickman's and am leasing to them as an owner op. the last time i worked for them i enjoyed it but had to quit becuase of difficulties with the military (they were sending me to 2 week schools every month for some odd reason). time out depends on what you want...two weeks out will only get you a few days home..all you hafta do is tell your FM when you want home an remind them about once a week till then an you have no problems. thier pay is gettin better...comon it is montana an up here .26/pm is about the goin rate and they do pay more than that (id be at .34-.36/pm if i was a company driver). they train an have fleet kenworth t800's, but they are alot nicer than some fleet trucks i have seen. the staff there is all friendly and easy to work with an take the time to get to know you and yer family if you bring em in to visit. lets see....no canada, no hazmat an no bs on permit's or truck maintence. very little oversize but expect to run close to 80,000 often( they can put 48,000 on the trailer and believe me if they can they will).layover pay starts after sittin for 24 hrs, can get advances on every load plus tarp pay/side kit pay.
man i think i missed my calling..i shoulda been a reqruiter(sp?) -
they take "newbie" drivers...they start around .28/pm i think, right outta school youll prolly spend 4-6 weeks with a trainer, with experiance driving expect 2-3 weeks after the 3 day orientation, very little wait time on trainers if any...when i started they were all there by noon on the third day except one for a group of about 6 guys...thier turnover isnt too bad, alot of the reason for it is flatbeddin is work and it doesnt suit some poeple, plus tarping isnt alot of fun...lol
they have around 115 company trucks and about 20-25 o/o's
