Wow what a thread. Super truckers are hating up in here. I agree with condo cruiser. I know nothing about the load shift though.

I have had a D12 Volvo up on power because of worn injectors.
It was up just over 80Hp an torque up 30% on a dyno.
It was also up on diesel usage and smoked black on gear change or pulling.
Not so much that the load shifted or anything.

    baby Thanks this.

This isn't the place to come if you're feeling sorry for yourself. The load shift thing was what she was getting "hated on", as you put it. Once she conceded that argument, nobody said a single word against her.

Doesn't take much to be a supertrucker here apparently. Some of you should aspire to it.

The truck shutting off at highway speed multiple times would have made me park it. I've had that happen twice, albeit not in a Volvo, and it's extremely fortunate both times were on mostly empty highway at night. Stupid Ryder trucks, both times.

There has to be a better job in WV than Jordan. I see them toting coils around the ports all the time, but really don't see much of them aside from that. Perhaps an oil/gas driving job, or supermarket delivery or similar. Both of those pay miles better than OTR anyway.

My pos Volvo will cut off with low water.Take a turn, get a warning buzzer, and off the motor goes.
I kept checking the water, and it wasn't low,not even a little. You could reset key switch, and it would restart.
I found the culprit was the two wires had came loose (rusted). They detect low level, unless they come off.:biggrin_2554:
Having a truck just die on you is a sucky thing.
Too much salt has corroded a lot of the wiring on my truck.

Hey guys. I juat want to thank you all for commenting. Yes. There is ALOT more to the story. As a female flatbedder...i have fortunately met the best of the best who helped show me the ropes...and unfortunately the worst of the worst who judge me badly for not being at home with my four teenagers. Judge me as you like. I was separated from my children 5 yrs. Ago due to an abusive marriage. I had purchased a mobile home but its situated on my exmotherinlaws property and as i have no family or help from friends i had to be the one to leave. After REHAB..i got my CDL and hit the road to be able to support my kids. Thia job is my ride home every week to see them as well as how i contribute financially. After putting in my rookie time...this job was my first big break as it was a dedicated run out of WV withdecent pay and consistent homehometime. It was a BIG DEAL for me. However...right in orientation the GM if the company startes verbally harassing me. It didnt stop. He even askes me why i wasnt at home and did i pay child support. The first truck they gave me was nasty filthy and had a cracked windshiels and bad injectors and needed alignment. I wanted/needed to work so i just prayed thruout this ordeal he would stop harassing me. That truxk got parked because it kept breaking down...so the next truck asaigned is the one we have been talking about with the bad injectors. I only drove that truck 150 miles and the injectors were bad and the aie compressor wouldnt shut off and the air dryer sneezes every 10 seconds. After the GM called me and verbally harassed me for 30 minutes..AGAIN....and told me he was sending me home..rwfused to tell me if he was firing me...refused ro tell me if he would give me breakdown pay...i hung up on him and proceedes to lose my temper out of frustration for needing this job so badly and knowing he waa doing everything he could rhink of to run me off...i gave into my anger and kicked the windahield and broke it. As i am a homelesa peraon because for the past 5 years i have spent all my money supporting my kids instead of maintaining a home i would barely use since im a trucker...im basically screwed. Who will hire me now after i broke a windshield??? This was my DREAM. For me...for my kids. And in one fell swoop i let a stupid bigheaded bully get the best of me after being harassed for 6 weeks. I believe he intentionally gave me breaking down trucks...dirty trucks. I just put my chin up and scrubbed them out with lots of cleaner and a toothbrush...and tried to make it work. Anyways...good luck to you all. I sure did love flarbedding and being able to do as much as i did for my kids financially while doing it...and getting to see them every weekend. It waa really a great rhing for my family. Anyways...take care. And rhanks. God bless you all. And safety first! And if you all stick together and obey the lawa eventually they will start making laws that work more for you truckers as well as the industry. There you go. Thats my story. Oh. Last but NEVER least...I re-found Jesus in this journey of mine. And i dont know what im going to do now...but while ive been out on the road i actually read the WHOLE bible...im worki g on the last couple of chapters right now. And let me tell you what. Im 5ft. 4in. I weigh 145 lbs. Dont tell ME God didnt make this flatbes thing happen for me! Because He DID. I work twice as hard to swcure loads than any man! But it meant so much to me to be able to do it. God is great. God is good. And He blessed me...and i dis good tgings for my kids and had some fun.

Sorry for the typos. Also. The truck was idling rough and safety recommended the injectors be changed. It did NOT break down on me. I only drove it 150 miles with a severe vibration. The driver i picked it up from who quit told me what was going on with it. It quit on HIM...not me...four times on the interstate. He told me the company KNEW about ALL of its problems BEFORE they gave it to me. I refused to drive it after aafety told them to fix it...but the GM refused. He said what the other sriver aaid was HEARSAY and that since it didnt quit on me..
I should drive it. I didnt want to even take the chance it would quit on me like it did hom on the interstate so i ssaid no. They knew it needed to be fixed. Anyways. Thats all of it. Dont know WHAT im going to do nowwwwwwwww. Gonestly??? It felt great to kick that windshield i was so mad but i wanted it to be thw GMs face. And im still sorry it was not. I hope he dies painfully for what he done to me and mine!
