Anybody use either a Jotto desk? or a Cybertrucker? Are they stable? Do they vibrate? I saw where the Cybertrucker is around $289 & the Jotto is around $329. The Cyber mounts to the seat and the Jotto mounts to the seat bolts on the floor. Just asking...

There are some cheaper options, priced in the 175 dollar range. Give a call to 1-800-243-3194 and ask for a catalog. Place is called AW Direct, which is a company that supplies items to tow truck operators. They use laptops for their work as well.

I have had my Cybertrucker for over 3 years. I have used the same laptop for the whole time. It took a few tries to get installed, but once I figured that out, it was as sold as rock. Had a problem with quick release. I called them and they sent me a new one free. New style works way better. Just upgraded to USB fans. This is one product that just keeps getting better. Best tech support I ever had on any product. I know a driver who had a Jotto desk, broke after 4 months. I heard guys say the Ram mount is cheaper but it breaks real easy and not very stable. If you really know how to use your laptop and use it a very much, the cybertrucker is the only way to go. The fans are an awesome idea, my old laptop just keeps on going.
350,000 miles + and still a solid as ever. -
It conflicted with the dash on my FLD Columbia and seemed otherwise unstable, although I DID like the fact that twin cooling fans were intergral with the unit.
I recently bought a RAM Mount on EBAY (for LESS $ than the original Cybertrucker Mount). It should arrive today or tomorrow. I will report back after I install it.Last edited: Jan 6, 2009

I bought a Jotto Desk back in 2002 while driving for an owner operator. It bolted to the floor. 90% of the flex was the floor flexing. After leaving that owner, no other company would let me bolt a laptop stand to the floor. Therefore I made a frame of copper tubing that straps to the passenger seat. Works great, even with a passenger. I've used Freighliner Century's, and I think I used it in a late model Volvo.

but well worth the money best unit ever had strong and sturdy -

Ram. Modifed by us to slide under the passenger seat so no seat removal required. $225 on my site. And yes, we tested them all. Best mount, lowest price. Just sayin...

Personally, I don't use the laptop while I'm driving. Hell trying to keep my eyeballs off the cell phone is enough of a challenge for me, I don't think I could handle a laptop up there, I'd be fiddling with it too much. Another thing, it seems to me it would be announcing to every crack-head I drove past on my way to my parking spot each night in the truck stop, "LAPTOP ON BOARD! BREAK INTO ME!" I'd be scared to death to run inside and use the toilet.
postmandav Thanks this.
