I have two books in my truck: “Richard Nixon: The Life” by John A. Farrell & “Dracula: The Un-Dead” by Dacre Stoker & Ian Holt.

That's exactly what I'm doing my friend. About 1 day away from dropping this rig to a hub.

Pull a flatbed...no lumpers, no grocery warehouses...and a free exercise workout with every load. I switched to glass hauling at 51...and wouldn't go back to pulling a box without a fight.

They have done that back in the 80's and did that before that decades prior. Old story so to speak.

People make appointments you have no say or input as a driver. Then you sit. Basically free warehouse space with the added benefit of providing cooling to the food in your box. Your time and commitments mean nothing to these people. You will stay there until they are ready for you, not a moment before.

Abuses like that has been going on since the time Moses loaded up for exodus out of Egypt. It only took him 40 years to get unloaded..../SARC....

I found my reefer heaven hauling McKesson out of Memphis. Easy 65 degree medicine out of that truck as quickly as possible and reloaded with cardboard going right back to Memphis.

That is the main reason I went local (daycab). If I ain't workin' I'm home.
Example, today was only a 350 mile day. Out of work by 3, run errands, have a beer with the old lady, some pizza and wala, chatting with you fellas from the comfort of my play room.
