Not sure on this one either. I used to drink alot. When I started driving a truck I cut way back and would only drink on my hometime when I was away from the truck. In the last several years I have pretty much given up drinking all together. I will still have one every once in a while when my wife and I go out for diner or something but I make her drive home even if I only had 1 drink. Not worth my livelihood over a #### drink.

It's that last word in your post. THINKING! If more drivers were capable of even doing that a little bit, half of the topics on this forum would not exist!

Stupidity, plus probably alcoholism. It is one hell of a combination to try to survive with.

Get them the hell off the road. The rest is up to them, whether or not they choose to deal with their problem.

It is beyond my imagination that ANYONE who is not addicted (alcoholic) would be stupid enough to drink and drive. Particularly on the job. Most particularly in a CMV.

Couple yrs ago I ran across a guy that said he drank an 18 EVERY NIGHT.
Home or on the road made no difference.

I think it's the "it'll never happen to me syndrome". I'm sure alcoholism is another reason.
Plus nowdays people always want to blame someone or something else for their failings. It's not my fault, blah blah blah caused me to be this way.

I think a lot of the people who have a few drinks then go out and get caught or cause a horrendous crash probably can't drive worth a crap to begin with.

I haven't been a drinker for over 20 years. In my late teens and early 20's I would "barhop". Never had a problem. DUI checkpoints solved that for me, reguardless of how well you drive after a few, your not gonna get past one of those.
