K&B transportation inc Iowa is the worst truck company

I'll take that a step further, worked there years ago and it was no where as bad as you say. Yes I do see a lot of truth in what you're saying about upper management but never had any issues with breakdown or planners or heard of any harassment towards females. If the load was going to be late, let them know as soon as humanly possible to get it off of you. A lot of drivers for them don't know how to communicate, they came from a mega company like swift or schneider plus got babied about work ethics and that's where the driver falls short. If something came up I instantly called and sent a free form to cover my assets.

Realized early on that they will push you and push hard but you have to stand your ground and push back legally and stand firm. Let them know you want to help in anyway but what they are asking you to do just isn't going to transpire. Ha, told them one time they called me in the middle of a sleep break after they said this was a HOT load, that's nice. I'm sleeping and in SB status, I won't answer the phone again and this is your one chance to talk like an adult or we can pick this up in 9 hours. They ended up calling my wife to get her to call me and discuss the issue and without dropping a beat she told Dispatch that to not call her again because she was sleeping, if he is asleep he needs his rest like I do right now. Get good, and hung up the phone. Later that night they had an employee of flying j come out to my truck to wake me up. Lol. She didn't get a good earful but it wasn't her fault, they probably gave her a 100 money code to do it. That's the lengths they go to. Also heard that years ago they we about to belly up and chapter 13 was on the table but Tyson came in and loaned them enough to get afloat in return become one of Tysons main haulers, is that true?

I hate when drivers who are getting abused come up with this stupid phrase. K&B abuses their drivers. It's a well know fact. "Oh, I got powered 45 times in 24 hours. I was tired, but man, I wasn't going to complain. Worth ethic you know." JHC man, move on. It's not a work ethic, it's being a ##### boy.

 

They’ve been known literally for DECADES for abusing their drivers to do stupid ****!
They were even caught up during an expose on “20/20” years ago trying to force a driver to drive even though he was clearly telling them that he was too fatigued (a blatant violation of federal coercion laws) to drive.

 

It’s especially unnecessary since there are probably 10 well-established mid-sized carriers within 100 miles radius of K&B that’ll pay the same (or more) with the same experience requirements and provide a much better experience. Even more options when you factor in the mom & pops

 

What other mid-sized carriers would you be refering to? I'm looking for OTR.

I haven't complained about abuse, I detailed some funny crap that happened, that's all. If your feelings got hurt by what I typed then You need to check yourself and realize that its trucking. Nothing ever happens the way we trip-plan for.
