Then you had to go to the HUGE Oxford American English Dictionary on a pedestal and look it up and bring back the definition. Then they would give you a login, which was only good for that day. After you found what you wanted, if you wanted to check it out you had to bring the corresponding card from the card catalogue with it to the desk.
