The recruiter Valentine Romo told me I was good to go and get started with their warrior OTR program. I resigned from my company and was set to start with them 1/19/23. He calls me on 1/17/23 after already resigning from my previous company and booking a hotel for a few days since there was no one way car rentals available. He gives me "unfortunate news" that they can not accept me because of a public intoxication charge that was dismissed 8 years ago. I had also spent money on a car rental only because I wanted to take a small tote to cook and my sleeping bag. Lost money on hotels, car rentals and unable to return to previous company. Now I am unsure where I will be working. Valentine Romo is unexperienced or shady for he should have told me about this issue sooner. Just be careful working with these people, Jeremy another recruiter sounded dead when calling and V as he likes to be called is just a young kid. Anyway this rant is over it's just so cruel these companies could care less about what we go through to sacrifice being long haul truckers. VR stay safe.

Question: did you disclose that charge on your application? If you failed to do so, and they find out on the back end, then you'll have to eat that one.
snowlauncher Thanks this. -
OP you may have dodged a bullet with that company. Although it’s been a while KB has a reputation here on the forums-and it’s not a good one!
As @bryan21384 stated, was the charge disclosed on your application, even though it was dismissed? Most trucking companies doing background checks go back 10 years.bryan21384, Lonesome and TB John Thank this. -

yeah, there are better companies than K&B.
CatchUp, mjd4277 and Veteran driver Thank this. -
Consider this a dodged bullet. Someone above was looking out for you, as difficult as it may seem to believe. Now go find a company that isn't paying 6-figures per month to advertise in every available format and publication out there.... there is a reason they advertise so hard, and it's not because their drivers are happy and staying for years on end.
drvrtech77, GreenPete359, mjd4277 and 2 others Thank this.
