    KBR NEEDS YOU!!!

Recently KBR was awarded the LOGCAP V contract along with three other government contractors.
So for all of you drivers out there that were asking about driving overseas. This is the time to go get a passport. KBR's timing on asking for drivers seems spot on as people are starting to be out of work. And might be more willing to do something they normally wouldn't do.

From what I understand the pay for working in Iraq is a lot less than we were getting 15 years ago. Not considered a war zone anymore. I don't think they will see any $10,000 months these days.
Now Afghanistan is a different animal.

KBR is paying $68k- $75k in Iraq right now. There isnt any outside the wire driving anymore. It's all on base driving. FLUOR paid drivers more in Afghanistan. But I dont know anyone that works there now. Wouldn't think KBR would be paying more when they start LOGCAP 5 in the ghanny. Because they always paid lower than other contractors. But I feel it will be hard to get someone to come to that area for less than $120k p/yr

Yes that money could be made in the U.S. the only incentive I can see is that its tax free provided a driver doesn't go home alot. But to only have 10 paid days off every 4 months ain't enough.

So my thought is KBR was advertising the virtual job fair, and job opening advertising. Because of the current job situation in the U.S. And thinking that people would jump on the opportunity because they are out of work.

Thats ridiculous. Navy guys were getting out and going over there making 300k a year just doing maintenance on hand held radios and other comms 15 years ago.

The base pay for the job I had in 08 was $8500. But the base pay now is $2700 with time and a half after 40, and double time if you work on your 7th day.

But working 10-12 hrs a day in the U.S. could yield more dollars than working for KBR before this virus stuff. However KBR needs to up the pay if they want experienced people behind the wheel.

Maybe just maybe a job title as such would bring in higher pay. But KBR is known as a lower paying govt contractor. Ppl would use a gig with KBR to get in the region. Then network with others on the base and find out who was really paying.
