    Hello everybody!

I'm new on here, just joined 5 minutes, my friend said this is the place to go for information. I have a 2011 Volvo 780 with the ISX Cummins 15. Two weeks ago I started hearing a tapping noise, I took it to my mechanic and he pulled the top of the engine off. He called me and said my camshaft and rocker arms are beating again each other. I already had ran my racks on it. He said I had to replace my camshaft, intake rockers, exhaust rockers, Jake box rockers, 2 rocker shafts. Plus labor, I'm looking at $13,000. I found a Detroit 14 liter with low mileage for $5,500. My friend told me to take out the Cummins put in this Detroit and change the turbo to the Borg Warner and by the aftermarket exhaust manifold. He also told me to send the ecm and get it tuned and I'll be satisfied. Any suggestions from you guys?

That’s for conversation not threads/posts. We all see your post on “New Postings”...... you have like 5 or 6...... be patient, if you haven’t pi*^ed anyone off yet with all your posting.... someone will eventually reply

Since this is the Canadian section I’ll assume your Canadian ... you might want to see if you can get your annual safety with a deleted truck ..

For $5,500 I'm going to take a risk and assume 04-09 before the dd15.

The first dd15 the one that was 565, or 550 or something like that. Some were bad, others were tanks and ran forever.

Fix your cummins. 13k for the top end is a pain but cheaper than a repower. You need all new wire harnesses, new ECU, new, new, new, plus the cost of taking your cummins and all the goodies out and putting that DD in. You're gonna be down for weeks and cost you an arm and a leg.

Hell I think the entire wire harness for the DD plus install is almost half the cost if not 3/4 the cost of the repair to your cummins.
