I have a trailer that needs a little love. Several of the doors have hinges that are very sticky and harder to open than they should be. The hinges are simple enough. They have a long bolt through them with a nut on the bottom. I have loosened the nut slightly and tried to beat the bolt upward with hammer and brass drift. They won't budge. There's very limited space to get any PB Blaster down in there, though I did try.

I think my trick of last resort is an air hammer. Hopefully some percussive therapy would get them to free up.
Can anyone suggest other ways to free these up?

Last, any suggestions on the most appropriate lubricant? I understand that a dry lube is good so that it doesn't attract dirt. Also, a white lithium may be acceptable. Any other thoughts? Thanks!

Either replace the hinges or remove the bolts to properly clean out the rust and crud built up in there.

That's a lot of hinges! This moving van has 2 rear doors, 3 curbside doors (where 2 doors are split style and open down the middle of the door opening) and 2 large "barn" doors on the street side.

We do agree on using a good dry lube though.

Yes, that is the intent of my question. I am trying to recondition the existing hinges. I am wanting to see if anyone has alternate suggestions to help free up the bolts. I think if I can get the bolts out, I can clean up the hinges. That is my primary focus. Which lubricant to use is secondary.

If you’re in a hurry, then a air hammer would be the quickest way.
Have you tried spinning the bolt head since you have the nut loose? You can try to hammer them down and then try to drive them out.

    Roger that.

I have tried spinning the bolt head and I can't get many of them to budge. If I go too hard I'll end up rounding over the head. I know the picture doesn't show it, but the head on the bolt has a flared bottom. The only way I can drive the bolt is up. Basically, I wanted to see if anyone had tips and tricks for dealing with this.

Jack those doors slightly to unload those hinges. They'll still be a chore, but at least they'll not be bound by the weight of the door.

That's a good point. Give them a little boost. (Just don't go too hard)

If an air hammer or jacking does not work I would remove the hinges. Then spray penetrant between the bolt and hinge, and turn it upside down to do the other side. Another option would be to buy a gallon of PB Blaster ($40 - $50) and drop a couple of hinges in a small bucket and soak them.

You’re not trying to drive it through, just looking to gain any sort of movement.
Sometimes when you have a seized nut or bolt it’s better to try tightening it.
