No doggonit? Get ready for the big dog! One of the late model, not my, trucks around here has been at the dealer for three weeks now. Warning light coming on, derating, no codes, etc. Where would a one truck operation be with those truck and insurance payments?
That looks like a money maker for someone that can turn wrenches if you can find decent paying freight.
Someone I know built a small empire with preloved trucks. Replaced rods & mains, ran over head, replaced all the coolant hoses ( even the little 2" long hose between the heater core and the water valve that takes 4 hours " I don't give a #### I said all! " ) Plus normal through inspection and repairs at that time. That was followed by many more regular inspection and repair sessions for the next 1- 2,000,000 miles.
Those were some good trucks. If one of the plug ins for a circuit breaker has melted in the big board it can be repaired by rewiring to another one at the top. You have to pull it all out the front, a 4 or 5 hour deal, but don't have to replace the board. KW tended to run a lot of stuff, like blower resisters, on the ground side which is not wrong just different. There are two or three breakers in the battery box. If you are around a junker and can pick some up cheep get them. Those plus the 5 terminal relays, and fuses are kind of like the points and condensor I keep in the clove box of my old Chevy.
Most importantly if it has a rainbow decal outside to to go with the purple knobs and such inside replace it with a cross or something. Good Luck.
