I have never been to Africa, and have no desire to travel that far. I have been aware of the arrangements long-haul truckers in Africa make in the absence of restaurants and truck stops as we know them. I do not condone their lack of monogamy.
My acquaintances tell me that Africa is a beautiful place. I know the author of "I Slept In Africa". Also, a young relative of mine from New Zealand is presently volunteering at an orphanage in Kenya. They tell me that the people of Kenya are most of the time very friendly. Although the majority of Kenyans are very poor, especially in the rural areas, there are also people who live better than the citizens of the US or NZ or anywhere else in the world. My sources admire the character, talents, and abilities of the African people. Their mechanics are geniuses who can keep trucks operating, trucks that were worn out on some other continent before being exported to Africa.
