    Generally, you can't blame them for preaching common sense and motivating people.
    I am not so sure about his health stuff. The man is simply passing through uncharted territories. Cutting down on sugar and eating less carbs cannot do harm to anybody. If you eliminate carbs significantly or completely then you will need to eat other foods, and which foods are you left with? it was not long ago when I read studies about strong correlation between eating meat and colon cancer. What else you are going to eat on low carb diet, if not fat and meat?
    Should I dismiss all these studies and go low carb and high fat because he says so?
    I tried but never could stay on it.
    For me it is eating moderation and physical activity. The health receipe known for ages.

    I eat a lot of chicken, fish, and veggies. Maybe once a week I’ll eat a steak. The main thing I noticed when I cut carbs and sugar is I don’t have nagging joint pain anymore and there’s no more sluggish feeling throughout the day.

    I’ve walked the same road as @Long FLD, cutting carbs and increasing veggies, and I’ll credit KR with first giving me the background (haven’t listened to him since I came off the road four years ago). The relationship between colon cancer and red meat is primarily due to processed meat products (cured, primarily sodium nitrite). I’m buying half a beef a year (from the ranch next door, not industrial beef), a heritage pig from the same guy (no nitrites in processing), and I grow fish, so I eat a lot of that. But, overall, lots of veggies, lots of olive oil, lots of fish, lots of nuts and healthy fats (those bags of walnuts from Costco are a staple, as are the sardines). I’m stronger than I was 15 years ago, and out work men half my age, routinely. Like @Long FLD, the aches and pains are much less, and the mild IBS symptoms I’ve had all my adult life are much less (probably a wheat intolerance).

    Good for you. I don't know what I would do without pork chops and fish either. I like leaning towards Mediterranean diet full of sea food, veggies, nuts and fruits too. However, it is hard for me to give up good, made from grainy flower and baked the old fashion way bread and self made butter. When I have a slice of it in my gut in the morning, I feel satiated for the most of a day. Sort of hard for me to grasp the notion that it could be poisonous. It has no semblance of super market bread or Subway. I know, however, that I can eat like a pig too. Gorge on food and the negative results are quick. Add this profession to it you have a perfect combination for a health disaster. I am sure that he KR means well, and in case of many drivers, his advice is the only doable solution but I don't buy into the idea that Neanderthals ate better and lived better life because of their nearly carnivore diet throughout their short lifespan.
