I had a phone interview today.

local delivery route, about $28 an hour. 8-12 hour shifts Monday-Friday. 3-6 AM start times depending on route. Benefits seem decent, pay is better, it’s a little further from home. Most everything takes effect after 60 days. Sign on bonus of $1500 but you have to pay $870 in union fees on your 61st day. And then approximately $66 a month to the teamsters. I have never been union, never worked anywhere that had one. That’s one thing that’s kinda holding me back, can someone help me with the union stuff?

 

Vacation/ PTO/ Sick leave really sucks either. Gotta be there 2 years to get anything. But still m-f is better than 6-7 days a week at Sysco

 

I don’t know. I don’t know what they do, who they are I know nothing about who I’m being told I have to give almost $900 and then $70 a month. I’m trying to figure that out.

 

Benefits ain’t bad. But the vacation and time off really blows.

 

Help me understand this union thing. I’ve never been around one. What am I paying for lol

 

Still have to have an interview with the transportation director. I assume a road test and all which is no problem and gotta go get doubles for whatever reason
