Well Ive stopped at Petro, they checked it. Did evac, vacuum and recharged, said it was a bit overcharged. Stuck thermometer in vent and showed 46F at full blast. It was only 65F outside at the most. Thats not cool enough to me. Should be way in mid to upper 30s imo.
Anything I can do to make it blow cooler air. I know my trainer had same truck and I would have to put on sweater in July cause his a/c was so cold.

On recirc, you should be able to hit 40° F no problem. Pulling from outside air, it will probably only pull 30° off the ambient temp, meaning if it's 80 outside you'll get 50° out the vents.

Has the expansion valve and drier been replaced lately?

If you know it has the correct charge and it's still not cooling good, check your blend door to make sure it's closing properly.

The low side at 65° ambient should be 25-35 and the high side will be about 135-155... controls set to recirc and high blower. Unplug the fan solenoid so it stays on while you check pressures.

If they've never been done as far as you know, I'd go ahead and replace them. If the compressor is a little long in the tooth, you might want to throw one of those on there too. Cheap insurance to catch it before it blows up and fills your system with metal.

Oh, and if you do the compressor, get a genuine Sanden. The knockoff look-alikes will only last a year or two at the most and will cost you more in the long run.

I do the filter drier and expansion valves every two years.
