Just remember you guys aren't family, you ain't friends. They are practically the DOT. They being Landstar. It is sad I have this attitude, but after being here for as long as I have - I can't say I have any friends at corporate. I think this is sad. They called the other day wanting a check! I've been off due to a family emergency and they didn't call to ask first how I was or to see if I was dead somewhere at a nasty truck stop or something. Nope they wanted money. I understand that. Each week your deductions pile up. Fine. Just don't keep mailing me newsletters, birthday cards, little gifts for Christmas. I'm not buying it! Or call me up at my anniversary and say, if there is anything we can ever do...

Good luck to the newbies. Make your money and that's it. It is a business.

    landstar8891 Thanks this.

are you going to buy your own trailer? There are agents looking for O/O with reefers.

Don't come here unless you are sure you know what you want to do.....LS can be a hard place to work as it is with a plan the first year as you get in with agents. Without a plan you wont last 6 months.

He was wanting to know what percentage of trucks at landstar were teams. We don't get any better percentage pay wise for being a team.

Yeah I read it wrong. It's real simple to estimate it though. Just take the amount of drivers then subtract the number of trucks.

I ran ''reefer'' with Landstar for 2 years...I almost went broke...Never again..There is just not enough freight for a reefer and customers gave me a hard time loading dry on the reefer. Here is what i should of done..

Run a company van and have your reefer parked for the ''just in case'' reefer loads pop up...This will make you more ''flexable''.But full time reefer,no way..!!!!:biggrin_25516::biggrin_2559:

Aint that the truth...Keep in mind we have alot of L/S Drivers that can't see this with the l/s rose colored glasses on...I treat them the way they treat me.I wear Landstar like a loose garmet..It's just a ''business'' in my eyes...

Also watch out for other BCO's who will drop a dime on you in a heartbeat, if you do something against LS policy, because you are their competition.
I personally can't understand that way of thinking, we are all just trying to make a living, but there are some out there like that.
