Been running for LS for 3 and a half years pulling reefer and i've never done better than right now. Best in the last 12 years in trucking. Rates are great. Winter is my busy season because of protect from freeze liquid hazmat that absolutely cannot jell. So things will get even better when it starts snowing in the Midwest and New England. If you come on to LS definitely buy your own trailer. Don't pay them 7% of your gross to rent their dry van. You can gross $20k per month in your sleep. That means you are paying them $1400 rent per month to pull their trailer. Top earners gross closer to $30k per month so the rent is even more for them. Run the numbers. Then run your business smart. You will do well at LS but you have to stop thinking like you're a truck driver. You are a business owner in the transportation industry. GLTA

Here ya go. Taken from my weekly settlement.

UNLADEN LIABILITY INS P GROSS COST 22.38
    LCN FEES - CONT. 3.69
    PREPASS 2.50
    CPP 35.38
    **************************************************************
    TIRE PURCHASE 301.92

    Unladen is bobtail insurance.
    LCN is Omnitracs on-board computer
Prepass is to bypass the chicken coops
CPP is optional workers comp and $2 million if I die in a work-related crash, and money for incapacitation or dismemberment in a crash. You can choose to not participate if you want.

The tire purchase was for reefer trailer tires thru LCAPP.

So less than $30 per week. And LS will deduct fuel taxes also. There were none on this settlement.

So the CPP (occupational accident) is optional now? When I was there it was mandatory.
