- The Thacker Pass Lithium Mine is located in Humboldt County, about 25 miles from the Nevada-Oregon border. The proposed mine covers 9 square miles of public land, and would operate on one of the largest lithium deposits in the U.S. The Thacker Pass deposit sits within an extinct supervolcano — the McDermitt Caldera.

Bit off topic, but a few days ago while waiting at the Doctor's office I was reading a Car and Driver magazine.
A story about EV of the year caught my eye, so read it.
No Tesla, it was the Ford Mustang.

Watched an interview of a protester living on that piece of land. Of course he is using lp/propane to heat and cook.
It should be a rule these protesters live without the products and services they want to deny rest of the world. I'll bet there is a gas powered car at that camp also.
In this interview I think the protester claimed it cost 50x the climate change emissions to produce a lithium battery powered car than it did to make an ice car.Pamela1990, jason6541 and Chinatown Thank this. -
