During hurricane Harvey, the city of Houston instead of parking all the city vehicles in the high-rise parking garages to keep them from being flooded. They park the cars in the basement at City Hall… So approximately $8 million worth of taxpayer owned vehicles were destroyed… SMH

Houston floods weirdly. One part of the city will flood during one storm and be completely dry while another part floods during the next storm. I always suspected the Corps of Engineers of playing eeny-meeny-miney-moe. Where will we send the water this time? -

Harvey wasn’t the only storm to flood out the city-almost 40 years ago a similar situation occurred when Hurricane Alicia came a calling. -

During Alicia I was in an apartment. We lost power and water, but only for a day. One of those whirly roof vents blew off of someone's roof and dented my car.
