Hello i am new to the forum and also trucking, i have a few questions perhaps someone can help:

I been a trucker driver for about 6 months, currently working for jr shuggel in ellenwood GA, i am ready to make the next step and my own truck , this company offers me a lease program however im not too sure about it, as probably everyone in here started driving dry vans, im lookinh into going hazmat/ tanker since this is what pays the most, i know most companies will require at least 1 year of experience to lease a tru ck, however 6 months will fly by, i have money in the bank to put a downpayment if necessary , my question would be : im not trying to " rent a truck by leasing" so should i do a lease to own ? or just financed the truck? Whats the best and most profitable way?
Do u know any companies out of atlanta GA that has a lease to own program for tankers/ hazmat
Which will be the most suitable truck for the job?
Does the hazmat and tanker l/o have plenty of loads? (Im not talking about now with the coronavirus going on) i been doing a lot of research , however 0 posts about tanker with hazmat loads.
In your opinion what will be the best route to.go ?

Keep saving your money and stay company for a while. When things start opening up. Try to get on a a tanker company. With a year driving several companies will hire you, with a clean mvr and a decent PSP. Learn the tanker business as a company driver, the if it is a good fit, you will be better prepared for the next step.

Chemical tanker was the most F'd trucking job I'd ever experienced.

You don't want to lease or lease purchase a brand new truck from a big company. All you're going to do is pay for the truck.

You do want to lease purchase it, just from a dealer if you can't buy it straight out.
There's a lot of savvy that goes into buying a good used truck.

Keep saving your money. Keep your record clean. Call me when you get a year in.

I wouldn't discourage anyone from ANY lease purchase, however I would discourage them from,
    a. A specialize L/P
    and
    b. One that they've never done before.

You don't know what you don't know

Switch to hazmat tankers now, as a company driver.
Acquire tanker experience, then become an owner operator.
    Here's one example:

You already have 6 mos. driving experience; now you need 6 mos. liquid tanker experience to qualify for Fort Transfer
    ~
Minimum of 1 year or 100,000 miles of verifiable commercial tractor-trailer driving experience, including 6 months or 50,000 miles of liquid bulk tanker experience.

I don't know. My few years as a tanker driver was a company driver. Never had the urge to be an 0/0.
CC Cobb has some fine looking trucks.
