Here's one in the making > Not a new driver
There's dozens more threads on here from drivers that successfully made the leap.

Many many drivers get into trucking after professional careers. You will meet folks with degrees and decades of experience in their field.

Myself, I have a bachelor's degree in Psychology, then went on to a few decades focused on offshore sourcing. When the economy tanked I hung in there until 2012, then got back into trucking.

Looking back I wish I had stayed with trucking in the late '70's. I would have been much farther ahead of the game financially.

I'm in Seven Hills, but it's difficult for me to get away due to caring for a disabled child.
His brother is fine though and attends Del Webb Middle School. He completes a 45 minute math exam in less than 5 minutes and aces the tests.
I'll help you all I can on here though, so ask away!

I left a solid job in sales, people acted like I was crazy, or had hit my head or something. I like my new career, when I'm at home with the wife, I'm at home, not checking ######## emails or worrying about hitting numbers. That's what I love about trucking.

My wife and I shut down a business we ran for 8 years and started teaming. We work less, make more and have benefits. Bought a killer house last year, expanding the family this summer.

I was SUPER nervous starting this path. Check my older posts..I researched the hell out of driving. Had to make sure it made sense or my wife would have never let it go...turns out, this was the best choice we could have made

Gatorgrl, Lepton1 and Zoltan1a Thank this.

If it was easy, everyone would do it. Just research. I was able to find an incredible route my wife and I stayed on for 2 years at Schneider. Then we upgraded to OD and I couldn't be happier.

You are going to encounter things that will drive you up a wall...people too. But at the end of the day, it's just like any other job.

    What industry are you leaving?

    Gatorgrl Thanks this.
