You will love it. You deal still deal with petulant cry babies...but at least you can tell them to get bent because they are adults lol. You will make WAY better money too.

    Any prospects on companies?

Chinatown has provided me with a nice list, but most require at least 3 months of driving so I am thinking of going to Knight. They have a terminal hear in Vegas and hiring is done from here as well. They have a regional option driving Arizona, Utah, California, and Nevada so that sounds appealing

    HATED IT!

Third Career \ 61 years of age \ OTR Trucking

    Only 3 regrets

    1. Wished I had done it 24 years ago when I retired from the Marines

    2. Wished I was more experienced and better at it, (See #1 above)

    3. Wished I had switched to another more qualified trainer. He's a great truck driver, great guy more or less, just not so good at Training

Lots of companies say they require "X" amount of experience. Ignore that and apply anyway. In my case, I investigated until I found the name of a senior recruiter. He helped me with the application so the system didn't dump it for lack of experience.

I, like you, am seriously thinking of leaving my career (in a few weeks) and driving a truck teamed with my hubby OTR. We are still exploring all of our options. He originally had a fading issue if he was driving a long boring stretch, he would fade...hard. Well we have totally changed our eating habits and have eliminated all sugars, carbs, veggies, fruits and alcohol and it has made a world of difference in both of our energy levels...no more driving fade! :) Still researching our best options. Best of luck to you.

I made those changes as well in life last year because I was getting tired midday at work. Amazing what drinking water all and eating fruits does for your system
