Lee Hi restaurant being replaced with IHOP

Used to be one of the few places where you could order beans and cornbread [even though it was not the best I ever had], then TA came in and it was never the same after that.

Any other places one can get a good order of beans and cornbread? Or a good ham and navy bean soup? Used to be a place in Adair, OK that had amazing beans and cornbread but I think they closed some time back.

 

I find it ironic that a truckstop with bad food is generally getting replaced by a facility with overpriced bad food.

 

It's odd how beans and cornbread is a tasty, healthy, and filling 5$ meal, but they will never offer it.
Now if you can find a way to deep fry and roll them together, PFJ and Loves will happily sell them on the hot dog rollers. Just need to be sure all good nutritional value can be removed.

 

I thought it was good, although I haven't been there since TA moved in. I've heard of Chili and Cornbread ( R place at the TA in Morris, Illinois ) has that.

 

Pinto beans guys. Geez, ya'll act like ya'll ain't never had no good groceries.

 

Sometimes that is the case. Im working on a bag of tomatoes that just came in. It will be a few days with that salt shaker going and knife slicing.

 

The road ranger at Princeton ill on 80 still has great ham and beans and cornbread in the restaurant.

 

Just keep the windows open the cab about 3 hours later, lest you increase the pressure and blow them out, just sayin'
