    Hey Everyone!

I was wondering what kind of weekly hours local (home daily) fuel-haulers tend to average, assuming there even is an average. Does it differ between private fleets like Gemini and third-party carriers? Is it consistent all year, or does it fluctuate with seasons?

With a 3rd-party (non-private) fleet -- figure 12-hour shifts....plus whatever your commute time is (both coming & going). Plus any added traffic time.

Weekends are (at best) 2 days long; weekends are typically not on a true weekend (think "Tues & Wed" to start out with).

Also -- you will very likely start on nite shift....while those around you (family, friends) are still living/working days.

    Think about it....

Is it normally 5/6 day weeks, or does it vary?

Yes.. with third-party carriers you’re most likely to have a six day work week 12 hour shift

Are private fleets also 6 day, or are they normally 5?

IDK… All I know is I know somebody that drives for pilot down in the Houston area and I believe he works five days a week but I don’t know if that’s the norm cause he’s been there 25 years

That makes sense. At 25 years, he must be happy

    It can 5 days, 6 days...or even 4 days.

    It depends on the fleet.

Gotcha! I'm doing 6-day/65-hour weeks right now. Granted, I'm only doing 4-5 hours on day 6, but I feel like if you take 5 hours, you take the whole day.
