I'm currently employed with a regional OTR flatbed company. I have about two months experience.

If anyone knows of anything local in the Greensboro NC area that would take on a driver with limited experience, please let me know.

I can't stand being away from my wife and 5 yo child much longer.

    Thanks

Try your local Hardware stores such as Lowe's and Home Depot. They run trucks for delivery.

Try food service; some require only a cdl permit and don't need any experience. Looks like you're more than qualified.
Websites aren't always kept up to date so ignore "experience required."
    Sysco
    Sygma Network
    Reinhart Foodservice
    U.S.Foods
    Gordon Food Service
    McLane Company
There was a post last week by a driver with only a permit that Sygma Network hired him.

Temp services may have some local.
    CDL Truckstop
    TransForce Inc.
    Kelly Services
    ProDrivers
    Centerline Drivers
    TopGearLogistics

Sometimes with temp services if a company likes your work they buy the contract from the temp service and give you a full time job.

I am supposed to get home today (Friday) and interview with a local lumber company but it looks like I'll be in Georgia and won't be back in time for the interview.

If I quit and then go job hunting, I'm terrified I won't find anything.

If I stay, I'm afraid I won't be able to interview due to being on the road all the time.

    Catch 22

As a food service veteran, I can tell you that the drivers do 12 to 14 hr days and it is very physical. I am not saying that is a bad thing by any stretch but be prepared. You would be delivering up and down stairs with a hand truck. Good pay but know what you are getting into. Good luck!

I went with flatbed to stay a little physical.

It's not quite as physically demanding as what I thought it would be: pulling bungees, throwing straps, rolling tarps.

I'd enjoy pushing food or drinks around. Break up the day.
