Since I started 3 months ago, I have been doing a seperate vehicle inspection form. My first couple of weeks, I was 12 hr/100 mile exempt, so that is all I had to do.

I recently got a pack of log book pages that have the vehicle inspection at the bottom of the log page. It is just one box to check, in contrast to the seperate one I have been doing where every single item is checked. Also, they don't have the time and odometer fields.

My question is, are the legal to use for vehicle inspections?

While legal, your company may want you to do the DVIR separate from your log book, check with them. I've worked for a couple companies that had the DVIR on the logs and they all wanted PTI's done in the separate book.

we went from separate to one on the back of log page.

it was to reduce paperwork for office.

companies choice is all it is.

as long as you sign that it is done all is good.

If you ever go into Canada, technically you should have the long form to make them happy.
