Seems like D had something go wrong with his Volvo that Lone Mountain took care of.

IIRC, it was something in the auto shift.

Originally the warranty company said no.... So I paid for the repairs out of my pocket. About 2 months later Great West Truck Center (Salt Lake City) called me up & said they submitted it to the warranty company anyhow & were paid, so they reimbursed me every dollar.

LMTL does not have any affiliation with the Freightliner dealership in question that lil sweety mentioned. They only DOT them and potential buyers are encouraged to go to a shop of their choosing. They only DOT their trucks. The 379's are ex TMC trucks and should be ready in two-three weeks.

Just to give the Lone Mountain point of view on the person who had the negative post early on:

    1. We disable the ICON system on all of the trucks, because we only sell to O/Os who will be sleeping in their trucks and need the engine to idle for extended periods of time. In this case, the customer specifically requested that the ICON system be RECONNECTED. As Outerspacehillbilly said, it is about 15 seconds to disable the system. They paid their shop $1200 to do this.

    2. We have no affiliation with any other dealerships, and every Lone Mountain customer is free to get any inspection they would like, at their cost. They are also free to spend as much time as they would like inspecting the trucks themselves, as the posters on this forum have done. Although a lot of people aren't quite as thorough as MedicineMan, we have no problem with people taking their time. It is a big commitment and a big responsibility to purchase a used truck and start your own business. We do repair anything that is found in any of these inspections at our shop.

    3. If the brakes and seals were bad, it would have been revealed in the Lone Mountain inspection. If it was somehow missed in the LMTL inspection it would have been revealed in a simple customer/pre-trip inspection of the truck. If it was missed in both of these inspections then it would have come up in a 3rd party DOT inspection. There was never a problem in any of these inspections. Only when the truck was brought to the customer's trucking company, who has a rival lease purchase program did a problem arise.

Only after the ICON repairs, and the brakes and seals were switched did Lone Mountain get a call, when it was too late for us to help out. The same shop that did the $1200 ICON repair also said that the radiator needed to be replaced. We told the customer that if the radiator was actually bad that we would fix it in our shop free of charge. The customer refused. They wanted us to fix it at that shop.

It is impossible to please everyone, but it is great to hear that everyone on here has good things to say about Lone Mountain except for one person. If any of you have suggestions on things we can do better please email me.

Thank you Joe for clarifying this. Sounds like you have a very good company over there and the used trucks are just that, USED! I bought and sold many vehicles in my day and as you already know, everyone wants a brand new truck at used prices. If you want a new truck, then go buy a new truck, but most likely you cannot since your credit is a mess and that's where LMTL comes in. They are taking as much a gamble on you as you are the truck.

Best of luck to all of you and keep the rubber side down!

my only idea for improvement would be to offer a trade up program for people who have had their lease for like two years. due to it being a lease with no benifit for early payoff, ee are kind of stuck in these trucks. personally i like to keep a truck between 450k and 650k mi. range.

my salesman who i understand is no longer with you, told me this was something that was being considered but it apparently never came to be.

tmc only runs short hoods these days. if its a short hood its not really a 379 now is it?

tmc also drills a hole in the bottom of their charge air coolers which is a built in boost leak. just fyi

MedicineMan, I definitely wouldn't be opposed to discounting leases if they are paid off early. If you are paid up ahead of time you should get a break on the rate. A trade up program obviously has a few more moving parts.

olhand, We are getting some 2006 379s and 9900i's from A.N. Webber. There is a pretty wide range on the miles they are coming in at so we will have to take a look at that before determining pricing.
