1500 mile runs and beyond anywhere are few and far between. These days, a long haul is considered 800 to 1000 miles
Long length of haul.

Question to seasoned drivers. If a load is 1,500 miles total, but has 6 stops, 5 of which pay only $25 extra per stop, and the load takes 4 full days to complete. Would you classify this as a 1,500 mile length of haul load or not? Personally, I call it a week killing piece of garbage. Point being average length of haul can be quite misleading if it's time killing multi-stop grocery warehouse reefer loads.

Look for smaller companies that are located close to the source of a refrigerated product... like a Washington company that ships apples. A California company that hauled grapes. An Idaho company that hauls potatoes... ect....
