Considering the times, I believe getting that old school cool truck as a first truck is not a realistic possibility. They have made manual transmissions nearly impossible for you to buy so picking up a used truck with that option is somewhat of a stretch. I stopped by a local dealer yesterday to sit in a Cascadia with O/O specs and it was pretty nice for a 500k mile truck. They are asking 75K and looking at the market it's about an average asking price. Even for the random 13 speed manual truck, if you can find one, the price is similar so my question at this point is, have I waited long enough? I was set to move forward at the last election cycle and darn sure glad I didn't but now I've got the itch again. I'm not a prediction making kind of person but with some positivity in the air going into 2025 I think rates and freight are both going to pick up. What are your thoughts looking forward at these things as well as fuel costs, will they drop with the possibility of domestic production increasing? Thanks for taking the time to read, have a great day and be safe.

does a cool looking old school shiny chrome hammer drive a nail better than one that looks like a common hammer and has a little rust on it? -
75k for a 500k mile truck.. I would be running away very fast... if you have 75k to spend, just throw it down a new rig

Dude, 75 G's for a worn out plasticadia? You can do better.
Remember, warranty is GONE. EVERYTHING is on you with that truck. I drove that vintage plasticadia and I got to know the mechanics at every single location we had around the country by first name. And we got RID of our trucks at 500,000 miles. So EVERYTHING I was in the shop for was under that. I had a brand new one limping into a shop for a broken speed sensor wire on a wheel.
It's just junk. And now my company is getting rid of Volvos and going to these junk trucks. This 23 860 has 220,000 miles and has never been in the shop for anything other than PM's. Best truck I ever drove.rpad139 and broke down plumber Thank this. -
