The question... Pete 389 new or new glider... or Pete 579 new?
Tanker chemical work, leasing onto current carrier as IC. All 48.
Looking towards new, 20-30% down, good rates... because I can. I like old school, but I also like the new gadgets and such. Pro's and con's?
Thanks in advance!
Looking at new Pete's

I would go with a 389 flattop but that's just me. Lol
Oaker Thanks this. -
What "gadgets" can you possibly get in a 579 that you can't also get in a 389??
MJ1657 Thanks this. -
Have you lived with a new emissions truck...?
If you don't do Cali (that much) do your self a favor and do a glider...
P.S. I said the same thing " cause I can" and the new ( at the time) emissions truck almost buried me...lol -

If your going to go with a Glider Kit, I check regulations on how it will be titled. Technically, if the truck is listed as a 2015/2016, it has to meet the emission standards for that year. Not really sure how Glider makers get around this, but I'm sure they have a way. Just my 2 cents, take it for what it's worth. Me personally, if you want a pre-emissions truck, find a nice 2007 and have a complete overhaul done on the motor and drivetrain. Good Luck.

Steering wheel controls..........smartwheel BS can be had in a 389. The GD "navstar"? panel?? Oh dear Lord SKIP the in-dash navigation/smart guages on ANY Paccar product and go with a high quality stand alone gps. -
This is patently untrue. There is nothing to "get around".
If you want a pre-emissions truck..............nothing better than a brand new rolling glider with a reman engine and trans.Klleetrucking, poppapump1332, Long FLD and 2 others Thank this.
